Kevyn Lenagh
Kevyn Lenagh is a transgender cartoonist living in Fairdale, North Dakota.
Growing up in Sioux City, Iowa, she was hooked on the art of John Buscema, Gil Kane, and Gene Colan at an early age.
After four years in the Navy, she started writing and drawing Domino Chance in 1981 and continued it through 1986. The comic book series ran ten issues and followed the space-faring adventures of Domino Chance and Arnie Zoots, a pair of anthropomorphic cockroaches 15,000 years in the future.
In the 1990s, she co-wrote and produced 120 B&W illustrations of aliens for a handbook of David Brin's Uplift aliens called Contacting Aliens. As far as can be ascertained, it is the most B&W illustrations on one subject in one book in science fiction publishing.
In 2001, she took on a weekly editorial cartoon lampooning Governor Jesse Ventura and the Minnesota State Legislature. It ran in the Sunday St. Paul Pioneer Press for two years.
Kevyn has recently renewed her comic book career by publishing Domino Chance #11, and she is working on the next story in Domino's adventures.
